UTFCast Pro

In the computer world, there are several types of coding for text files and files in general. Most text files use the ASCII coding, which includes the well known alphabet and all the special characters and math symbols. But there are some applications that use other coding systems, like UTF-8, UTF-16 and so on. Converting a text file from one coding system to another can be a real problem, as there are few applications for this available on the market. Fortunately, there is one program which allows anyone to convert any text file from a coding system to another, in the easiest way possible.

The program I am talking about is UTFCast Pro. This simple Windows application makes converting from a coding system to another a piece of cake. After installing the application using its point and click installer, the user will see an interface which resembles the one of Windows Explorer. One just needs to select the folder that contains the desired text files and then right click on it and select the Detect option. At this point, all the text files included in the folder will be displayed in the interface, together with some information about each of them, like the codepage and status. There is also a preview section included in the interface, which displays the file's contents.

One can select one or more text files and then choose a coding system from the ones available. What makes UTFCast Pro different from other similar programs is the possibility to use multiple threads, for a faster encoding process, and also the compatibility with large text files of up to 1 GB. This is why a dual core processor should be used together with this application.
